Friday miscellany

Finally, finally, finally I got off my lazy arse and went for a run today. It felt good. I just wish I could manage my time better and not miss out on so many runs. Because of my lack of running these past couple of weeks, I know the half marathon on Sunday is not going to be as easy and fun as I’d hoped. Instead, I’m just hoping that I finish upright and not collapsed in a puddle of my own bodily fluids. That’s an attractive mental image though, no?

Somebody’s watching me
If you didn’t already know, I’m a total Sitemeter stalker. I like to know how you all get to my blog, mostly so I can keep tabs on who’s slagging me off in the blogosphere. But it’s also how I find the lurkers. One such lurker who’s finally come out of her shell and started up her own blog is Carpeviam (Latin for ‘seize the road’). At her blog, Copiaverborum (more Latin! meaning ‘a lot of words’), she’s chronicling her life and her training for the Boston marathon. Stop by and wish her luck, folks. Show a newbie how friendly we all are. Glaven, not that friendly.

All right, everyone, that’s it from me. I’ve got a train to catch. Have a great weekend, everyone. And good luck to Count of Monte Christo who’s also racing this weekend. Apologies if I’ve forgotten anyone else. [Update: Like MCM Mama, Mike and Aron. Good luck!]

Later gators.

Hope you had a great run!

Thank you for the best wishes. You have a very good run too. I am sure you'll do more than fine. Enjoy the experience and keep us posted on how you came dashing across the finish-line.

Have a great weekend.

Yeah, I'd be over there right now wishing her luck (or, in Latin, "sex"), except I stupidly came here first and I keep slipping in this puddle of bodily fluids.

I'm referring to yours, by the way.

In case you misread (somehow) my phrase "I came here first". Because how could I? I don't see any videos of blown-up condoms around here today!

Okay, I made a not-too-friendly comment on your Latin buddy's site and it's awaiting moderation so it'll be interesting to see if it makes the cut.

I'm betting not, because in it I offered to sell her a vial of your bodily fluids.

Or should I say "vile"?

Yikes... came over here to say something cheerful and supportive like 'Go Xenia!' But I don't know how to say that in Latin.

If you keep raising the bar, how's a girl to get to the tequila? :(

Good luck at the half - hope you have fun!

Have a great time! Take your camera and take pictues, it takes the pressure off of trying to run fast! LOL...

Good luck on Sunday. Sternly tell yourself to have fun and not to vomit and hopefully follow through. (As for other bodily fluids, do you always have your period when you race, or is it my imagination? Maybe I'm just thinking of myself. Grrr.)

I'm deciding if I want to go and visit the site, because I hated Latin in school. I can't think of anything more pointless than learning Latin.

I love how G is now known as "that" guy. You know, the really creepy pervert that gives everyone the heebie jeebies :P ;-)

Isn't it crazy how peeps get back to your site? I totally owe Vanilla a humongous verbal blow job as he is the 5th most popular way that peeps get to my site.

I love how Marcy is known for her verbal blow jobs. I'm just waiting to see whom she finally decides to "verbally go all the way" with.

I'd pay to verbally see that.

Good luck Sunday. Try to control your bowels.

I'm not friendly.

If there's anything I love more than Runner Boy, it's Latin. So I'll be visiting/lurking.

Good luck on Sunday...just take it easy and have fun! Maybe bring your camera along and take some pics whilst you're running? Or walking? Or some combination thereof?

I wish you good luck, but not so much that it diminishes the good luck I'll need for my own race on Sunday, and as we know, the universe has a finite quantity of good luck, which has to be parceled out like the last handful of M&Ms.

So, with the preceding disclaimer, Good Luck!

Haha, I'm with you on the site stats.

Good luck Sunday!

I'm wayyy too technically challenged to figure out how who got where. All I know is that I catch people from other people that I like...I'm very 2009;)

Good luck this weekend!

Good luck in your race, Xenia! Remember it's not how you start, but how you finish...so I'm looking forward to a triumphant photo to document that you finished!

(Omigosh, that could so be taken the wrong way...)

Best of Luck, Xenia!
I think the best way to deal with GQH is to NOT directly link to him in posts...it's like rattling a lion's cage.
Except of all bloggers, G is the furthest from being a lion. Maybe a pu$$y, though.
So don't rattle the pu$$y's cage.

Xenia, you totally rock! Thanks for the "link love." ;) I think I'm gonna have to keep an eye on this Glaven character. He'll certainly keep me on my toes.

And, good luck!

Good luck on your half. I am so behind on my blog reading. Hope all is well!

Good luck, Xenia!! And it's a well known fact that those pesky bodily fluids just weigh down the average runner, adding 7 - 15 minutes to their half marathon finish time. So exude them at will...just try not to slip in them.

Actually, maybe you should avoid Latin for the next couple days. And guys wearing togas, especially if they're named Brutus.

Whew! I was just reading the comments especially Glaven and Viper. They sure cracked me up! You have very interesting perps reading your blog.

Hope you had a GREAT race today and cannot wait to read all about it.
